PROIBIDÃO

1h de Proibidão is a sonic intervention that confronts cultural hierarchy through acoustic density and timbral disruption. Presented by Xandy NoBeat at the Goiás Medical Students' Athletic Association in November 2024, the one-hour set translates the language of the periphery into non-negotiable frequencies, transforming a space of privilege into a territory of aesthetic confrontation.

Before five thousand medical students — an audience historically shielded by economic and social capital — the set operates as resistance through volume. Where pleasing was expected, calculated aggression emerged. Where protocol demanded concession, refusal arrived. 1h de Proibidão does not seek acceptance: it demands to be heard.

prioritizing low-end timbres that punish the subwoofers and occupy space with physical authority. Few atmospheric variations, no pauses for comfort — only sixty minutes of continuous sonic assault that forces the body to negotiate with frequencies that acoustic whiteness prefers to ignore.

PROIBIDÃO

Situated between political affirmation and technical performance, 1h de Proibidão dismantles the "bad taste" argument and exposes its true nature: class discrimination disguised as aesthetic criticism. At an event where the ticket costs half a minimum wage, Xandy NoBeat proves that the noise from the favela doesn't ask for permission — it invades, dominates, and redefines what deserves to exist in high fidelity.

This is not music to please those who have been pleased their entire lives. This is sound to teach that those who truly know how to make noise have always known: to make it bang is technique, it is politics, it is art.

A continuous sonic confrontation that prioritizes the density of the sub-bass and timbral hostility at the expense of comfort.
